LATAM Colombia Recovers Its Schedule to 100%

LATAM Colombia announced Friday the growth plan that the company will execute in the second half of the year in the country, which raises an investment that will be reflected in the incorporation of three Airbus 320 aircraft, the adaptation of maintenance infrastructure and human resources and the 20% growth of the seats offered on domestic routes to achieve 100% recovery its offering in July, finally reaching pre-pandemic levels for that same month in 2019.

Regarding the offer, LATAM Colombia will continue with its decentralization strategy of its Bogotá operation that will leverage the growth of its domestic network to reach 15 national destinations with 27 routes.

In this way, on July 1, the operation of the Medellín-Cúcuta route will begin with seven weekly frequencies. And in August, passengers will be able to fly directly to Bucaramanga from Medellín with four weekly frequencies operated by Airbus 319 and 320 aircraft.

Likewise, the weekly frequencies will be gradually increased on eight routes operated directly from Cali and Medellín to reach 35 additional weekly frequencies for the month of August.

On the other hand, with the arrival of the three additional Airbus 320 aircraft, the LATAM Colombia fleet will be made up of 7 Airbus 319 and 12 Airbus 320 planes. Of the latter, 11 have already undergone the total interior renovation process of the cabins that began in 2019, allowing us to offer a better experience to the passenger when flying.

Initially, the aircraft that will be incorporated into the fleet will have their base of operation in Medellín.

With a view to continuing to consolidate its growth in the Colombian market, LATAM Colombia has a comprehensive value proposition based on three pillars: safety, service and sustainability.

On the security front, the airline has focused on setting high standards in its biosecurity processes, receiving the highest score achieved by an airline in South America by SKYTRAX.

In service, LATAM Colombia consolidated its digital experience to offer simpler and more agile processes for the passenger when traveling.

In addition, through a more efficient cost structure, it offers its passengers lower rates, flexible and with multiple benefits, thanks to the strengthening of its frequent flyer program.

Regarding to sustainability, LATAM Airlines Group recently presented the strategy that it will follow in all of its subsidiaries in the coming years, which raises ambitious commitments regarding issues such as climate change, circular economy and shared value, among which are: compensate 50% in conservation programs of emissions from its domestic operations by 2030; the launch of the Second Flight program, a project that seeks to reduce the company’s waste by using it as raw material for new products; the elimination of single-use plastics by 2023 and the amplification of the “Avión Solidario” program, in which the airline facilitates its fleet to support environmental, health and disaster emergencies.
