LATAM Airlines Group Tops May On-Time Performance Reports
Two leading airline data firms — Official Airline Guide (OAG) and Cirium — recognized the LATAM Group last week as the most punctual airline in the world, followed by a group of airlines from Japan, the U.S., Brazil, Russia, India, and New Zealand. In the case of the OAG ranking corresponding to January-May 2021, the achievement is based on compliance with the on-time-performance indicator.
For its part, Cirium’s monthly on-time performance report corresponding to May 2021 also put the LATAM Group in first place among Latin American operators, a position it has held since January of this year.
The “On-time performance” report from Cirium, also from May 2021, reaffirmed the LATAM Group’s leadership with a 94.68% punctuality percentage and first place among Latin American operators. Cirium has recognized the LATAM Airlines Group with the first position in punctuality since January 2021.
“We are committed to taking care of our customers’ time and we make every effort to ensure that each of our flights takes off and lands on time. We will continue working with our teams to maintain this compliance and thus continue to be the best travel option in Latin America,” said Roberto Alvo, LATAM Airlines Group’s CEO.
The measurements include the airlines’ on-time performance, which aggregates the itinerary compliance data published by each operator.
These recognitions are added to the data provided by OAG and Cirium that highlight the group’s performance in punctuality during 2019 in the “Mega Airlines” and “Global Network” categories, respectively. It should be noted that organizations did not perform measurements during 2020.
With OAG, you can now track the most comprehensive ranking of the World’s largest airlines and airports for on-time performance (OTP) throughout the year. Updated monthly, inclusion is based on OAG access to flight status data for at least 80% of all scheduled flights operated by an airline or airport.
